Hallsmith Sysco in Boston is monitoring fuel savings from Eco-flaps on both local and regional routes combining 38′ trailers and Class 8 tractors.
Diesel fuel prices for the entire first quarter of 2010 were 10% above third Quarter 2009 prices. That means that in just two weeks’ time, most fleets are spending an incremental amount on diesel that exceeds the cost of retrofitting their entire fleet with fuel saving Eco-flaps. Eco-flaps reduce this price impact by 40% every week through significant reduction of highway fuel use.

JB Hunt organizes a road trial out west with a small operation using Eco-flaps on trailers only.

Goodyear conducts another SAE J1321 Type II track test with Eco-flaps. This trial was performed using day cabs and tandem pup trailers for a national LTL carrier. Eco-flaps consistently outperformed the fuel economy logged by conventional mudflaps by over 1%.
Bozzuto’s grocery distribution buttons up their fleet retrofit with Eco-flaps.
Bimbo Bakeries USA, after great success using Eco-flaps on tractors only, opts to go fleet wide in the East on trailers with Eco-flaps. This sets up secure fuel cost savings for their 2010 operations in the face of expected price increases on diesel. It also means they will avoid generating 700 tons of CO2 from their reduced fuel use next year.
